The 2024 National Conference on the Promotion of International Trade and the Fourth Session of the Sixth National Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade were held in Beijing from January 15th to 16th. Ren Hongbin, Secretary of the Party Group and President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, delivered a work report.
The meeting pointed out that 2023 is the first year to comprehensively implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the year of economic recovery and development after the transition of COVID-19 prevention and control. To achieve leapfrog development and play a more prominent role in the overall situation of the Party and the country.
The meeting believes that in the past year, the national trade promotion system has resolutely implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and made new progress, achievements, and breakthroughs in various work. We have successfully held major economic and trade activities attended by party and state leaders, creatively prepared for the "two exhibitions and four conferences", the first China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo has yielded fruitful results, the preparations for the China Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka World Expo have been made solid progress, and the "the Belt and Road" Entrepreneurs Conference, the 2023 Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit, the first Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Development Business Conference, and the first Global Conference on the Rule of Law in Business have been successfully held, Effectively serving the overall situation of the country's opening up to the outside world. Domestic and international exhibitions have improved quality and efficiency, the promotion and implementation of free trade agreements have continued to deepen, and the specialized team for serving foreign-funded enterprises has achieved three transformations, promoting new results in stabilizing foreign trade and foreign investment. Strengthen the response to trade frictions, enterprise compliance construction, intellectual property services, and accelerate the expansion of dispute resolution services such as arbitration and mediation, and take commercial legal services to a new level. Deeply participate in multilateral platforms and international organizations, and make breakthroughs in global economic governance. The reform measures have taken root, and efforts have been made in multiple directions. Brand research, news promotion, and other work have been vibrant, and the construction of applied think tanks has been solidly promoted. The joint efforts of the system have been further enhanced.
