This report (Reporter Liu Yusong): The China E-commerce Shopping Festival has now become popular in Russia. On November 14th, a reporter from China Trade News learned from the Russian e-commerce platform Ozon that during this year's "Double Eleven" period, the platform's sales showed significant growth.
On November 9th, the Ozon platform's "Double Eleven" promotion officially kicked off. It is understood that this event will last for three days. As of November 11th, the platform's transaction volume during its promotional period exceeded 30 billion rubles. Compared to last year's Double Eleven event, the per capita consumption on this platform has increased by 27%, with over 5.4 million orders from buyers.
Among them, Chinese sellers have the fastest growth in revenue. Compared to the sales performance in 2022, it increased by 270% year-on-year. In addition, Chinese sellers are also far ahead in terms of participation in promotional activities. More than 90% of Chinese sellers offer product discounts during the Double Eleven period.
Among numerous consumer goods, the top five categories in terms of transaction volume on the Ozon platform include construction and maintenance, home and gardening, clothing and footwear, smartphones, and computers. These categories are all strengths that Chinese sellers have always had. And a Chinese brand car became the most valuable single item sold on the Ozon platform during this year's Double Eleven shopping festival. This Chinese brand car model, Chery Tiggo 4Pro, was ordered by 12 buyers within 3 hours, with a discount amount equivalent to nearly 28000 yuan. Not only that, Russian consumers who purchase this car will also enjoy door-to-door delivery services thereafter. In addition, automatic coffee machines, dishwashers, and rechargeable drills have become the most expensive items for Russian users during the Double Eleven holiday.
Huang Xiao, President of Ozon Greater China, stated that since the beginning of this year, the Ozon platform has increased investment in infrastructure construction and made efforts to improve delivery efficiency, providing conditions for Chinese goods to smoothly enter the Russian market. With more and more Chinese products entering Russia, more and more Russian consumers are gradually becoming familiar with and falling in love with them. This has also brought new market opportunities for more Chinese sellers. From the sales situation of the Double Eleven, it can be seen that the revenue of Chinese sellers participating in promotional activities on the Ozon platform has accounted for 11% of the overall revenue of the platform during the same period. This also indicates that in the Russian market, the trust of local consumers in Chinese products is steadily increasing.
