Beijing, October 31 (Reporter Zhang Yi) - The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade released a "Research Report on the Business Environment of Foreign Investment in China in the Third Quarter of 2023" on October 31, showing that over 80% of surveyed foreign enterprises are satisfied with the evaluation of China's business environment, and the Chinese market still maintains a strong attraction to foreign enterprises.
At a press conference held on the same day, Zhang Xin, spokesperson for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, introduced that in the third quarter of this year, the Council conducted research visits to 700 foreign-funded enterprises, of which 67% came from the manufacturing industry and 64% were small and micro enterprises, forming this report.
The report shows that among the five options of "very satisfied", "satisfied", "average", "poor", and "very poor", more than 80% of the surveyed
foreign-funded enterprises are satisfied with the evaluation of China's business environment. Among them, over 90% are satisfied with the "tax payment"
evaluation, while nearly 90% are satisfied with the "obtaining business premises", "municipal public infrastructure installation", "resolving commercial disputes",
"handling completion procedures", and "market access" evaluation.
From the perspective of industrial chain layout, 70% of the surveyed foreign-funded enterprises tend to maintain stability in their industrial chain layout
in China, an increase of 4.57 percentage points compared to the second quarter month on month; From the current situation and expectations of operations
in China, 80% of the surveyed foreign-funded enterprises expect their profits to remain unchanged or increase this year, while nearly 90% expect their profits
to remain unchanged or increase in the next five years; From the perspective of development opportunities, the interviewed foreign-funded enterprises have
considered "technological innovation and research and development" as the biggest development opportunity in the Chinese market for three consecutive
quarters, and about half of the surveyed foreign-funded enterprises with the intention of increasing capital are considering increasing capital in the western
region; From the perspective of development expectations, the interviewed foreign-funded enterprises generally hope to further "ensure the stability of the
supply chain and industrial chain", "improve industrial supporting capacity and agglomeration effect", and "enhance the continuity and stability of enterprise
assistance and relief policies".
