Due to the growth of China EU investment and trade scale and the promotion of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the Trans-Eurasia Logistics has gradually become the link between China and Europe and the countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" in economic and trade exchanges in recent years. The "steel caravan" marching on the Eurasian continent has constantly focused on the countries along the line.

A few days ago, the round table conference sponsored by the China Association for Overseas Development of Industries to promote the high-quality development of Trans-Eurasia Logistics was held in Beijing as an important part of the 13th China Foreign Investment Cooperation Fair. In his speech, President of the China Association for Overseas Development of Industries and Zhenwei pointed out that as an important hub for the joint construction of the connectivity of countries along the "the Belt and Road", Trans-Eurasia Logistics is a key link in stabilizing the industrial chain and supply chain of countries along the line. Accelerate the promotion of multimodal transport modes such as Trans-Eurasia Logistics and new land and sea routes, and build an interconnection network based on railways, ports and pipelines, which is conducive to the development of countries along the line.

According to Chen Huaihai, Director of the Regional Opening Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, as of the end of May this year, China Europe Express has operated over 72000 trains, transporting 6.28 million standard containers of goods, with a heavy container rate of 98.3% and a cumulative value of nearly 300 billion US dollars. The categories of goods transported have gradually expanded from IT products such as computers in the early stages of sailing to 53 categories and over 50000 varieties such as clothing, shoes and hats, cars and accessories, and grains.

"The operation of the Trans-Eurasia Logistics has closely linked the Eurasian continent." Chen Huaihai said that by the end of May this year, the Trans-Eurasia Logistics had laid 82 operating lines, reaching 213 cities in 25 European countries, gradually "connecting points into lines" and "weaving lines into networks". The transportation service network covers all of Europe, forming an international transportation artery connecting Eurasia.

It is worth noting that there are also some factors restricting the development of Trans-Eurasia Logistics. Li Xinlong, Executive Director of Hebei Inland Port Construction Group, pointed out that the uneven distribution of Trans-Eurasia Logistics assembly centers is one of the problems. For example, the eastern region has not yet been constructed, so it is necessary to lay out Trans-Eurasia Logistics central stations to explore the source of goods in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

"The port capacity is saturated, and the transportation facilities along the line need to be improved." Li Xinlong said that at present, the carrying capacity of Dzungarian Gate, Manzhouli, Erenhot, Khorgos and other ports is operating under load, while the regulatory ports are affected by infrastructure, the reload time is long, and the logistics and storage capacity is insufficient, which cannot meet the increasing demand for freight volume of Trans-Eurasia Logistics, thus reducing the transportation speed, especially the return trains, There is a serious backlog at the port.

At the same time, the small quantity and low value of return goods, as well as the insufficient development of overseas markets, are also major problems that currently exist. Li Xinlong said that the phenomenon of empty containers on return trains has been occurring for a long time, and most of the goods on return routes are grain, oil, ore, wood, etc. The shortage of goods is due to factors such as the imbalance in China Europe economic development level and trade structure, as well as the limited overseas layout and market expansion of domestic train operation platforms. Based on the above issues, he proposes the following three suggestions.

First, integrate dry port resources, optimize the layout of Trans-Eurasia Logistics assembly center, and create a number of modern logistics hubs with strong international influence. With strong industrial strength, high economic density and large population size, the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region should give full consideration to the layout of the formed Beijing Airport Hub, Tianjin Port Hub and Shijiazhuang Inland Port Hub, and set up the Central Asia hub of the Trans-Eurasia Logistics in Hebei to meet the needs of export-oriented economic development in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region.

First, integrate dry port resources, optimize the layout of Trans-Eurasia Logistics assembly center, and create a number of modern logistics hubs with strong international influence.

The second is to strengthen facility connectivity, enhance railway transportation capacity and port clearance capacity, and accelerate the construction of key domestic port bottleneck road sections for renovation and expansion projects.

The third is to lay out and build overseas warehouses, strengthen the supply organization of return trains, promote the integration of Trans-Eurasia Logistics and local industries, and encourage Chinese enterprises to establish production bases, logistics warehouses, trade centers and overseas warehouses in the surrounding areas of Trans-Eurasia Logistics's overseas routes, so as to give play to its intermediate transfer function. At the same time, we continuously explore overseas markets, cultivate high-quality customer groups, improve our sourcing capabilities, seize development opportunities such as cross-border e-commerce, improve the mutual sharing mechanism of railway, customs, and postal information, and improve return efficiency.

In order to further promote the high-quality development of Trans-Eurasia Logistics, Chen Huaihai suggested that we should focus on bottleneck sections and congested ports, actively promote the upgrading of the neck section of the Central Europe Express and the expansion and reconstruction of key ports, and expand new channels for operation between Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, West Asia and other countries; Effectively strengthen Brand management and enrich the brand connotation of Trans-Eurasia Logistics from the aspects of operation efficiency, service quality, innovation ability, brand culture, etc; Innovate the operation management and development mode of Trans-Eurasia Logistics, strive to create digital trains, improve multimodal transport, promote the joint development of Trans-Eurasia Logistics with the Silk Road shipping, and the new land and sea channel in the west, create high-quality trains, and strive to explore the opening of tourism trains, so as to accelerate the integration of transportation and trade.
